OdileMy research addresses the discrepancy between spore-based and DNA-based glomeromycotan diversity studies. I will deal with the tricky concept of AMF species as I will try to learn more about these “non-identified” environmental glomeromycotan species described through molecular analysis. Were these species already described morphologically but not sequenced or were they not detectable because not sporulating at the investigation time? Ideally, the idea is to combine both morphological and molecular methods for a better overview of the ecology and taxonomy of the Glomeromycota. For this purpose, I will generate sequences, based on a selection of multiple gene markers, from cultures from different biomes and geographical distribution.
